Clara (Isabél Zuaa), a quiet woman from the favelas of São Paulo, responds to an ad by wealthy but reclusive Ana (Marjorie Estiano) who is looking for a housekeeper and nanny for her yet unborn child. Initially doubtful about Clara’s suitability, Ana ends up welcoming the stranger to her home. The two women even begin a romance. However, Ana’s behaviour is very uneven and she develops a craving for meat. Her son is due during the full moon and the fateful night will transform Clara’s life. Balancing horror, melodrama, fairy tale and musical tropes as well as political allegory, Good Manners is a story in two acts. In the the first one, we are waiting for a child to be born in a rich neighourhood; the second one follows the life of this odd child in a favela. The suburbs of São Paulo breathes new life into the werewolf myth.
