Dubravka

Dubravka is a brave, sporty and free girl who spends her days playing with boys: kicking the ball, swimming in the sea, getting into adventures. But childhood is drawing to a close and Dubravka encounters her first experiences of the coming adulthood: loneliness, jealousy and first love. She is head over heels for the holidaymaker Valentina and is trying to win her affections with chivalrous effort. But when Valentina gets closer to her neighbour Petr Petrovich, Dubravka is overtaken by jealousy and conflicting feelings. The film is a subtle study of adolescence and a child’s first encounter with adult emotions and questions about one’s place in life.
